Protective hedge around the garden
Last year we were been given some hedging whips. They are a mixture of beech, hazel and hawthorne. We used most of the whips to finish the Jubilee Hedge in the Nature Reserve but we still had some left over.
We are now using these to make a protective hedge around the garden. The species chosen should provide food for the birds.
As you can see from the photograph, we have also started digging over the ground on that side of the garden. The soil is quite good but the digging is difficult.
