Volunteer Work Around the Lake
Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust offered to provide us with an Activity Leader who would work with us on the site. We accepted this help and so on the 2nd August we turned up to do some serious work. Unfortunately it was raining very hard, the first rain we have had for weeks, and it was blowing a gale.
Never -the -less we set to and started to cut down shrubs and bushes that were growing in the edge of the lake.
Two Friends walked round the edge of the lake to pick up rubbish and also found two dead mallards, which they bagged for disposal and reported these deaths to WLCT.
By lunchtime we were all very cold and wet and decided to call it a day.
Five Friends work for 3 hours =15 hours.
TOTAL VOLUNTEER HOURS FOR 2014 = 224.75 HOURS.
